Is the Moon void of course right now?
No. The Moon is at 2.2° Libra and is not void of course. Its next exact major aspect is a conjunction to Mercury at September 12 at 04:10 UTC, before it leaves the sign. The next void window opens at September 13 at 16:00 UTC and closes when the Moon enters Scorpio at September 14 at 06:50 UTC.

How this is computed
A void-of-course Moon is the Moon after its last exact major aspect in a sign, until it enters the next sign. Natal Compass follows the rule of William Lilly, set for this site by the practicing astrologer who reviews it, with 30 years of experience. Only the five major aspects count: conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition. Only the classical bodies count: the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. An aspect counts only when it is exact before the Moon leaves the sign. The outer planets, the lunar nodes and the minor aspects are left out.
The scan runs in ten-minute steps and treats an aspect as exact within half a degree, so every time on this page is good to about ten minutes, and a window can open a little earlier than a minute-exact ephemeris would show. Positions come from precise astronomical calculations, the same ones behind the free moon phase calculator and the Natal Compass assistant connector.
Questions
What does void of course mean?
The Moon is void of course from its last exact major aspect in a sign until it enters the next sign. Traditionally the interval is read as a pause in the Moon's conversation with the other planets, a time for finishing rather than starting. That is a reading, not a forecast; this page gives the times and leaves the reading to you.
Which aspects count?
The five major aspects only: conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition, and only to the classical bodies, the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. An aspect counts when it is exact before the Moon leaves the sign. Minor aspects, the outer planets and the lunar nodes are not counted. This is the rule of William Lilly, set for Natal Compass by the practicing astrologer who reviews it.
Why do other sources give different times?
Because they follow different rules. Some count the minor aspects or the outer planets, which shortens the void windows; some count an aspect while it is still within orb rather than when it is exact. Time zones account for the rest: every time here is UTC, with your local time added beside it when your browser allows.
Does a void Moon mean something will go wrong?
No. Nothing here predicts an outcome. Many people use the windows as a rhythm for when they start and when they finish, a reflective habit rather than a rule. This page is educational and is not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
